Awesome that he's sitting up, and I think it's awesome that you and Katie got him a kitchen set. i don't believe in toys for boys, and toys for girls. I believe in toys for children!!!

I think that holding on to something gives him a little more confidence, and helps with his balance. Soon without realizing it he will be doing it with no help at all.
