What's With All The Glitches/Problems And Slowness Here On Gather?

Hey Nora, I haven't had too many glitches lately. But, when you mentioned how quiet it is on here, I realized you were right. I'm not getting many comments on my posts. I'm working towards a cash out in the next month or two, at least I HOPE I can cash out in that time. So, I will be on here commenting on as many posts as I can. I may take a break after that and look at some other ways to get gift cards.

I've never seen it so quiet on here before as what it is now......today it's been the slowest I've ever seen......well, I just didn't have the time, or patience, to keep messing around so have pretty much stayed off here (unless commenting on other posts)........it's just unreal the slowness and quietness around here!

Wow, so sorry to hear of all your problems on here.....it does get really frustrating, doesn't it? I just don't know what the slowness problem is, but it seems to be getting worse, not better. Oh my, that would be extremely frustrating, having a sticking keyboard......I've had that happen before......NOT fun!

So far everything is normal on my end. I have just posted my amazing night and I'm getting ready to post the pictures. Like I said knock on wood everything is going smooth so far lol

Well, you're very lucky........I've tried posting a lot today....NO luck until tonight......I got frustrated and decided it just wasn't worth it so spent time doing other computer stuff. Even my comments have been disappearing.........I've been thinking about spending less and less time here, as things are getting slower and slower all the time.

I've heard that a lot. I hope we don't loose everyone because of Gather's failures

Today has been one of my away from home most of the day days---but when I have been here, it's taking forever for gather to load and most of the time it doesn't and I have to click try again.

It's getting incredibly more difficult to post and seems to take a lot, lot longer......I've been on and off here throughout the day but was never able to post until tonight, so I've spent most of my time at different places. Got some banking done, played all my favorite games over at Go Save (getting ready to cash out again there), as well as doing Swagbucks.

I haven't noticed anything different on Gather today, but I will have to say that I've considered quitting because of all the posting problems, especially because posting links and photos seems to be almost impossible.

It just seems to get slower and slower and slower............very frustrating indeed......plus, it's getting to be so quiet around here.

My biggest problem is it takes so long to get on. I'm afraid some are leaving because it is so slow and some going to sites that might pay more.

It does take a long time to get on Gather......I had that problem this morning so just left and decided to try later......but, once I got on here, I wasn't able to post anything.......arghhhhhh.........it's so very, very frustrating.

I'm having the same problems as you. Because it's so slow, I imagine that keeps a lot of people away.

When I had so much trouble getting on this morning, I just gave up.......all day long, it's been incredibly slow, and I've not been able to even post till just tonight........so I've not been on here much today.....too much frustration!

This seems to become a common "theme" more and more often.........I've kept my Gather time today to a bare minimum.....couldn't even post till tonight.....ughhh!!!

Nora my dear I am sending hugs to you....here is what I do now instead of getting frustrated at things I look up and says this OK God I need alittle help cause the devil trying to make me do and say bad things then I get up and walk away and try again later....hugssss

Yes, yes indeed :) !!!!! I do try to NOT get frustrated....sometimes, with Gather, it's hard, though, but you are right!!!!! Thanks for the great advice!! Oh hey, I just started reading a neat new little book, "One Word That Will Change Your Life." It really is interesting and great!

I havent been on here much as I have been on other sites but yes, the other night, I just gave up... I tried to comment and the pages wouldnt load... The circle at the top in my bar would just keep spinning and spinning, not doing anything...So , I would stop it and hit refresh, I still couldnt get there.. It plucks my nerves so I just gave up and went elsewhere...
You are right it does appear that not as many people are on here anymore.. I like to come look at the recipes but I am finding that its just not holding my attention on here anymore... I guess after being here for over 6 yrs, I am just burnt out and gather is just not holding my attention on here anymore... I am trying to scope out other sites... and checking in on here for a few mins. when this site permits it... It took forever for me to reach enough to get a gift card and now only have 25 points so I am slowing down... I find that I get more achieved at home, if I stay away from the computer... I am not interested in trying to get enough points to get anything, its not worth it to me... It takes to much of my time... I really do have enough to entertain myself at home or in the real world... lol

I know what you mean........this has been happening to me the past 2 or 3 days, continually.......it gets so doggone frustrating, it makes a person just want to scream........so, I just get off Gather and go do other stuff......the glitches and problems seem to be continuing and, in my opinion, are even getting worse than before, so I've no idea what's "really" going on. It took me a LONG time to be able to cash out for the two $10 Paypal cashouts.....and have no idea whatsoever when I'll get them.
I've been spending quite a bit of time over at Go Save.....they've got games, videos, special offers, shopping, etc........I've cashed out there 6 different times for gift cards.....the last time they even sent me a $5 Amazon.com "bonus" gift card!!!!!!
Very true.........I know that I get a LOT more accomplished here at home when I stay off the computer but have been staying off more and more lately.....plus, I'm starting a new exercise/dance program during the day, which will mean more time off the 'puter. Oh yeah, I've got TONS of "projects" to keep me busy/entertained around the house.....probably for years......LOL!!!!!
Hope you'll at least stick around and check in every so often........but I sure do agree with everything you've said!

Thanks Nora, I do feel sometimes that I let this computer run my life... lol and its only a machine... But people get along just fine without them, so can I .... I need to get some work done on the outside this Spring and Summer, and like you, I want to exercise more.... I have a Kindle that I hardly get on as I cant seem to find the time... Not to mention, I have found a new station on tv, that last night, the wind was blowing, and I enjoyed watching some of the oldies that I had forgotten about... Do you remember Banacek and McMillen and wife, How about I Spy? I was in my glory... Mc Millen and wife, was about a ghost, right up my ally.. I had forgotten how good it felt just to let the world pass me by as I visited my past...lol

Yes, yes, yes......I LOVE your post.....and I DO remember all those "oldies," they're great! I've found "Adam 12" and "Dragnet" on our oldies channels.......and am always watching them during the week........aren't the oldies just fantastic, though? Oh, and at night, sometimes I watch "Newhart," (forgot about it tonight), "I Dream of Jeannie," and "Bewitched!" Ahhhhhh, they're great!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed that this site has gotten even slower. I know it's not my computer as every other site is seems to be working the same as always. Thus far comments are submitting without a hitch. Had no problem posting. But points seem to be an issue now. In the past week I made 1 point, even though I have been on here much more than I am usually. And yes it seems like a ghost town of late around here. On the home page where you see other's comments has slowed to, where it seems like not much of anyone is around. With all the issues of late it doesn't surprise me. Why bother with the frustration of a site for nearly no points anyway. Just the frustration alone doesn't make it worth it.

Hi Dee! You know, for the past several days I've been noticing how terribly slow things have been getting here.........have never seen the points so darn slow as they are now. I think people are just very frustrated with all the glitches, problems, etc.........I thought they were all going to be taken care of..........hmmmmmm.......this morning, when I couldn't post, I just decided to get off and go do other things.
Nope, you surely aren't the only one that's been noticing all the slowness and how quiet it's become around here.

Oh well.....more problems, I'll just be staying off here more........at least that will avoid any more frustration!!!!!! I've got plenty of other stuff online to do, as well as getting my house stuff done. This has been ongoing for many, many days now.....it's getting old fast, and apparently lots of others think so, as well, as it's getting pretty quiet here.

They turned out good and the kids liked them.

Maybe Gather needs a bigger server or whatever it is. I was having a lot of trouble, but it's been ok today.

I just don't know what's going on, but it has definitely been very frustrating!

I haven't been on much today but I haven't had any problems so far.

It has been so super slow, for me trying to get on here this morning, I finally gave up and left. Finally, later on, I was able to be on for a bit, off and on......sure wish the glitches/problems would quit.....LOL!

My whole computer is one big glitch at the moment. My family tech expert told me it's time to replace. Currently I'm using my phone to try to keep up.

Oh no....sorry to hear that......I went through that last summer/fall with my other computer. Seems like they sure aren't built to last a long time anymore, are they?

The glitches aren't to bad today. A couple of times my couples disappeared but over all I find the site running much better than what it has been for me. Only in the last week.

Hmmmm, what on EARTH is that? Sounds very strange.....I guess I'd probably NOT like it and probably couldn't join....oh well, don't really need the money, as we got our super "hefty" refund check.....woohooooooo!!!!! Got too many "projects" going on at the time so really don't have much time for the computer these days.....got hubby a brand new t.v. for the bedroom and his "gaming" stuff, so he's pretty content......I need to shop, through Go Save, for a "fancy" desk lamp for my hallway/computer room.
So, what do ya have to do for all the $$$ over there? Funny thing, I never heard about it, or is it "secretive?"

Gee, I guess a LOT of people will miss seeing all my photos I will be taking when we go to Alaska this summer.....oh well, such is life, I guess........wonder how many have left Gather for good?

I'm still here. just spending most of my time there. Its actually a lot like gather. You write posts and you can post pictures. You get a penny for every view, comment, and "like". It adds up fast.

I've been having issues too, Nora. And, yes, it's very slow. Spooky, actually.

I've noticed the same thing... these glitches are getting old!

Have been noticing quite a few absentees of late - I think there maybe changes going on though am not sure how they can of shall effect everyone. Had problems last week with the comments disappearing though this week, touch wood, is working okay. There are some problems as to response time when clicking on an item to open it..seems like ages..minutes even. Hope things improve soon
