Hi everybody! Well, it's a beautiful today and we're actually having a "heat wave." The temp got up to 40 degrees......incredible! As a result, there's a lot of melting.....yayyyyy! Hubby and I had to leave to run to the post office and then over to Wal-mart to get hubby's pills.
I was leaving the house and accidentally slammed the front door.......BOOM!!! Down came massive icicles........and yep, they did hit me....thankfully, not in the head, though, but they sure got me in the ankle and that really hurt, as there were like 3 or 4 icicles frozen together (about 8" in diameter). I then realized that oh man, I could have been hurt really bad, if they'd gotten me in the head.......fortunately, most of them have melted off the house!!!!
What a day....what an adventure! Have any of you ever been hit by icicles?

There were like 3 or 4 icicles frozen together...when we left the house, I made the mistake of slamming the front door, and down they came....how very scary......very, very thankful they narrowly missed my head, but they got my ankle.....I have a nice "mark", plus my ankle is still hurting. Thank goodness, hubby knocked the rest of them down. We're finally getting a "heat wave" so a lot of the crap is melting....I want it ALL gone!
I would have been shocked myself. I hope you feel better soon. Snow and ice are not things I miss. After my husband was hit by a truck that was sliding and pushed sideways up a driveway in 1994 .... and the car was totaled, I was terrified of him driving in bad weather. We didn't make the decision to move to Florida until 1997. I had visited my parents and I could see they needed our help. Our house sold cash, settlement in 3 weeks... and there was no clearer sign from God. Now my son had to finish the school year and husband completed his consulting contract and we stayed in a motel. But we went to Florida in hopes of him getting work, and he did. He found a job and started working a month after we came down. :) God is good!
How dangerous that can be and some people would unwittingly fall victim.
Stay warm and stay safe.
I have never been hit by one and hope I never am either.
Hubby yelled at me.....then, he came up to the door and knocked as man y as he could get down.....just a bit ago, the last one fell.....the huge one that was about 7 ft. tall! They really can be very scary, that's for sure!
